About DMG Hardwoods
DMG Hardwoods is built on a foundation of experience, integrity, and a shared commitment to quality. Today, the company is led by three brothers—Zabil, Farzin, and Spencer Galloway—who have come together to continue DMG's legacy as a trusted supplier of premium tropical hardwoods.
Each member of the management team brings a unique professional background that strengthens the company. Zabil Galloway has more than 25 years of experience in the biotechnology and pharmaceutical industries, where he played an integral role in developing manufacturing facilities that transitioned research into full-scale commercial production. Farzin Galloway has been with DMG since its inception and brings over a decade of expertise in tropical hardwoods, including international sourcing, wood grading and quality assessment, brokerage, and warehouse operations. Spencer Galloway holds a Bachelor of Science in Biology and a Master of Education and has more than 25 years of experience spanning manufacturing operations, educational leadership, and environmental science.
Born and raised in Eliot, Maine, the Galloway brothers developed a strong work ethic from an early age. Their father was a carpenter, and they spent much of their youth learning the value of craftsmanship, hard work, and building things the right way. As their careers took them in different directions, they gained valuable experience across multiple industries. When the opportunity arose to purchase DMG Hardwoods from its founders as they prepared for retirement, the brothers recognized the chance to carry forward a respected business while building on its reputation for quality and service.
Today, the Galloway family is committed to honoring DMG's legacy while investing in its future. By combining decades of leadership, operational expertise, and a passion for excellence, they are focused on providing customers with premium tropical hardwoods, exceptional service, and responsibly sourced products. Their diverse experience positions DMG Hardwoods for continued success while remaining dedicated to sustainability, quality craftsmanship, and long-term customer relationships.

OUR HISTORY
The Beginning
DMG began selling lobster trap wood runners in 2013. The wood used for these runners had to withstand an extremely harsh ocean environment and be highly resistant to marine borers. After many trips to South America, Marty and Dale, the two co-founders of DMG, discovered the ideal wood—Angelique—and introduced it to lobster fishermen along the coasts of Maine and Nova Scotia. It was an immediate success.
From there, the logical next step was to introduce the same wood to the decking market. “If the wood is good enough to be used at the bottom of the ocean, it can certainly stand up as decking against the roughest elements nature can throw at it.” DMG trademarked it as Naval Deck, inspired by the wood’s historical use during World War II, when the U.S. Navy used it extensively on aircraft carriers and cruisers, including the famous USS Missouri.
CURRENT
DMG Today
Jacques joined the team in early 2015, bringing his extensive wood expertise to DMG. Marty and Jacques have a combined total of over 80 years of experience in the wood industry. Together, they have traveled extensively throughout the world—from the jungles of Southeast Asia, West Africa, and South America to the northern forests of Siberia—developing deep knowledge of both domestic and tropical hardwoods.
Today, DMG Hardwoods is primarily an importer of exotic hardwood decking from South America and West Africa. In addition to decking, DMG also carries a wide selection of live-edge wood slabs in various species.
Our facility is located in York, Maine.
